Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease in Arizona

This is a news release from the Arizona department of agriculture about a deadly disease affecting rabbits. This virus was previously considered a foreign animal disease with only rare cases in the US. However recently there have been outbreaks in both wild rabbits and domestic rabbits in New Mexico and north eastern Arizona.  This disease is almost always fatal and has very few symptoms before death.  There are suspected but not confirmed cases in our area. Please do not let your bunnies have any contact with wild rabbits and report any sudden death of multiple rabbits to the Arizona State veterinarian. (602) 316-3873
